MANSIO Launches HyConnect Research Project on Digital Hydrogen Infrastructure

MANSIO, together with several partners, is dedicated to the “HyConnect” research project—an initiative aimed at sustainably advancing the use of hydrogen as a fuel in road freight transport. The focus is on developing a digital platform that enables more efficient use of existing and future hydrogen infrastructure.

The platform is designed to allow users to reserve refueling station capacity, handle payment processing entirely digitally, and thereby create transparency and planning certainty for all parties involved. Compared to diesel, hydrogen offers higher energy density and enables faster refueling—a crucial factor for the technology’s market ramp-up.

As part of the HyConnect project, the project partners are developing a dynamic hydrogen pricing mechanism and an AI-based universal data interface. Based on these components, a capacity management and reservation platform is being created, which is scheduled to enter pilot operation during the course of the project.

The project is funded by the ERDF/JTF program in North Rhine-Westphalia and runs from January 1, 2026, to June 30, 2028. In addition to MANSIO, the partners include RWTH Aachen (PEM), Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, H2 MOBILITY Deutschland, and H2 Green Power & Logistics AG.
