DIN standard for cross-forwarding trailer handovers

Trailer handovers are becoming increasingly important in European long-distance transport. They enable higher utilization of transport capacities, better working conditions for truck drivers and the efficient use of battery-electric trucks. Trailer handovers offer particularly great potential when they take place not only within a forwarding company, but also across companies.

MANSIO’s “Relay Transport System” makes exactly this possible: it finds suitable transports and supports all participating players in the simple and secure transfer of trailers from one forwarder to another. As part of the STAFFEL project, MANSIO, DIN, FIR at RWTH Aachen University and the PEM Chair at RWTH Aachen University have developed a standard for long-distance transports with cross-forwarder trailer transfers, which has already been implemented in the MANSIO Relay Transport System.
This makes it very easy for forwarders to connect to the system and participate.

Transportation processing. Standards play an important role in this type of cooperation between companies: processes, information flows and data standards must be coordinated with each other to ensure smooth operations.
