Digital Logistics Award: Aachen startup takes the top spot

Transport review, 13.09.2023

There was an international field of applicants for the Digital Logistics Award 2023, with MANSIO, a start-up from Aachen, coming out on top in the end.

The Digital Logistics Award was presented for the sixth time as part of the “Zukunftskongress Logistik – 41st Dortmunder Gespräche”. First place in the Digital Logistics Award 2023 went to the Aachen-based start-up MANSIO with its software-based transport system for road freight transportation. MANSIO’s idea won over both the audience and the expert jury, securing first place as well as 15,000 euros. The start-up’s system is based on the concept of encounter traffic: during a transport operation, a truck hands over its semi-trailer to another truck. This enables a highly efficient use of resources and contributes to the optimization of supply chains, according to the justification.

A total of 54 applications from four continents

The Digital Logistics Awards ceremony took place during the City of Dortmund’s evening event in the halls of the “Phoenix des Lumières” art exhibition.

According to the organizers, there were a total of 54 entries from 18 countries on four continents this year. This made it the “largest and most international field of participants in the competition to date”. The prize money is provided by Digital Hub Logistics Startport and the Open Logistics Foundation.
